Our team developed a Synthetic Typhoon Event Set that has been used to assess extreme coastal surges throughout the Philippines, to support multilateral development banks . The ourput of the work has been used to identify locations where innovative Integrated Flood Risk strategies can be made, including Nature-Based Solutions. The project reviewed historic typhoon tracks, undertook statistical analysis, and developed a new track database considering forward speed, bearing, central pressure, environmental pressure and the radius to max winds.
