Our team developed a Synthetic Typhoon Event Set that can be used to assess extreme coastal surges throughout the Philippines, to support this Asian Development Bank (ADB) project. The project is being undertaken to identify locations where innovative Integrated Flood Risk strategies can be made, including Nature-Based Solutions. The project reviewed historic typhoon tracks, undertook statistical analysis, and developed a new track database considering forward speed, bearing, central pressure, environmental pressure and the radius to max winds.
