JBP developed a real-time cyclone alert tool that integrates forecasts and measured data throughout Australia’s national Automatic Weather Station network. It runs in the Delft-FEWS environment, with web reports displayed on webpage to summarise current alerts or forecast warnings, graphical results and export functions. The system uses national weather datasets: gridded forecasts, high-detail forecasts, operational best cyclone track datasets, AWS station feeds. It is used to trigger early notifications of upcoming disasters to initial fast insurance payments within affected areas.
