International
development

JBA Global Resilience leads our international development and humanitarian work, coordinating expertise from across the JBA Group and trusted partners to support resilience-building projects in vulnerable regions worldwide.

JBP is proud to be part of this global effort. We support international development and humanitarian projects across South-East Asia and the Indo-Pacific region, working with organisations including the World Bank, ADB, SPC and SPREP.

Our international development work in
Asia-Pacific

Our offices throughout the Asia-Pacific region includes JB Pacific in Australia, JBA Risk Management in Singapore, and Mekong Modelling Associates in Cambodia.  Our work includes:

  • The Pakistan Sindh Coastal Resilience Project, where we are modelling flood and coastal risks throughout the worlds 7th largest delta
  • Vanuatu nature-based solutions pilot project, where we are designing a new NBS scheme for Port Vila
  • Fiji, Savusavu coastal protection and economics assessment, where we are supporting the business case for new coastal protection
  • Georgia coastal modelling, where we are performing large-scale coastal assessments for the shoreline.

Research & innovation

Innovation is at the heart of all we do. We invest strongly in research and development, responding to the needs of clients to provide bespoke innovative solutions and incorporating the latest technical knowledge through collaboration with industry, academia and government

Water

Our work involves water; how it rains, where it flows, how it is used and managed, and how it will change in the future. Our team works on projects managing the risk associated with water resources, use, flooding and drainage. This work includes understanding upstream catchments, rainfall and climate changes, hydrology, flood and drainage studies, dam assessments, reservoir operations, drought and water security investigations, and yield assessment.

This is supported by our Global Watershed Mapping, flow estimation and Flood Maps – now available for all countries
